Today, the tide has changed, and we are honored to be among many peers in SIE and cause marketing. While we are specialists in video marketing and impact strategy, there are many other companies doing unique things to further the world of SIE in advertising. If you are new to the social impact and/or marketing spaces, it is important to familiarize yourself with some of the prominent companies in the field. Below is a list of 5 of the many amazing companies working at the intersection of marketing and social good:
1. Good-Loop
Good Loop’s unique and innovative “ethical advertising” system allows brands to direct donations to meaningful causes through their advertisements. The system works like this: Good-Loop takes existing video ads and distributes them in “unique ethical formats'' across the web. Then, when viewers watch the ad, they unlock a free donation to a charitable organization funded by the advertiser. According to Good-Loop, this allows brands to achieve “higher ad engagement, with significantly higher ad recall - all whilst building brand love.”
2. Entertain Impact
Entertain Impact works “at the intersection of entertainment and philanthropy, finding creative ways to unleash the power of individual platforms to raise awareness, shift perceptions, and accelerate action for the greater good.” They work with purpose-driven organizations to create social-impact-driven campaigns and marketing strategies.
3. Ad Council
Possibly the most recognizable name on this list, Ad Council has created some of the most iconic public service announcements and cause-driven ads in recent memory, such as Smokey the Bear, Friends Don’t Let Friends Drive Drunk, A Mind Is A Terrible Thing To Waste, and Love Has No Labels.
4. GOOD Inc./Upworthy
GOOD Inc./Upworthy has been “helping brands bring their purpose to life” since 2006 through creative digital campaigns. Upworthy became a viral sensation on social media with its dedication to “positive storytelling,” and now GOOD Inc./Upworthy has expanded into helping companies and other collaborators “align, activate, and amplify their brand purpose.”
