How Do I Know If A Video Production Company Is Right For My Brand?

A quality marketing video can fundamentally change the trajectory of your business or organization. However, making a great video usually requires a significant financial investment. In order to make sure your investment pays off, you need to find the right production company.  One of the most important criteria you should consider when selecting your production company is how well their production workflow aligns with your company’s timeline and goals. As much as the appearance of your branded video matters, the most important aspect of your video is your core message, and you want to make sure you are working with a company that centers your message during every step of the production process. In this article, we will lay out our typical production process (which has garnered positive feedback from our clients), which you can use as a  reference guide when evaluating the production process of potential video collaborators:

Our Process:

[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image="8032" img_size="640x426"][vc_column_text]Our first priority is making sure we are consistent with your brand messaging throughout the video production process. We start the production process with what we call “impact strategy.” Essentially, what “impact strategy” means is that we work with you to solidify your brand messaging before we even start planning the creative elements of your video. We also make sure that decisions about your brand message are based on real data (ex. customer feedback, anecdotes, and your team’s insights) about your audience.Particularly if you are using your video to make a significant announcement, such as a new product or service, major updates to an existing product or service, or a new Corporate Social Responsibility initiative, it is best to discuss all aspects of your messaging with your video production team before they ever start pitching ideas for the video itself. In order to better understand our clients, we interview core team members from brands who are involved in the project directly or indirectly, and/or interview potential buyers for your brand’s product or service to gain important insights about the brand's audience’s POV and what they are receptive to. This process enables two key things that can have long-term benefits to your company: 1.  It allows both Prodigium and our clients to get a sense of how each department or group associated with our client’s company views the product and its larger purpose, and 2. It creates a "project team" inside the brand and enables departments to effectively communicate with each other, breaking silos and resulting in a more collaborative environment. In essence, we make sure every voice is heard before even drafting a script or outline for a video. Additionally, we study the market to help you differentiate your communication from your competitors. This is a time-consuming task, so how much market research we do depends on how much we are being compensated. However, we always make sure to communicate with our clients and understand their brand well enough that we can create a video that has a good return-on-investment (whether in sales, exposure, fundraising, or whatever the goal of the video happens to be).
