Map Out the 30 Mile
NJ Tax Credit Zones
A tool by producers, for producers.
Inspired by the tool built by David Brotsky. If you need a NJ location manager, he's the guy.
The above mapping tool is based on the 2024 standards for qualification of Film and TV projects in New Jersey:
30% inside the 30 mile zone around Columbus Circle, and 35% tax credit outside of the zone, as issued by the New Jersey Economic Development Authority. Ensure to double-check qualification rules for updates via the NJEDA's Film Website.

FAQ
How do you handle budgeting & scheduling in NJ?

We build budgets and schedules from scratch, or build on top of what you might already have in place. It's easy to miss the nuances of the NJ tax credit on the budget - such as auditing, spot auditing, BRC verification and coordination costs. We lend our expertise for all of that. Our production fee is proportional to total spending, and is transparently accounted for.
Can you help estimate the NJ Tax Credit?

New Jersey offers a Tax Credit that ranges from 30%-39%, depending numerous factors such as the location that it was filmed in - how far away from Columbus Circle, essentially -, if a diversity bonus was approved by the NJEDA, how much spend was made outside of New Jersey, if the businesses involved have proper tax registrations with the state, and a few other factors. Keep in mind that not all expenses of a project will automatically qualify just because a large part of the film is shot in NJ, and every single one of thousands of transactions will need to be thoughtfully made and prepared to be scrutinized in an audit.
We help with all of this in the entire life cycle of a production - but for starters, use our free NJ Film Tax Credit Calculator to get yourself a first estimate.
Do you work out of NJ? Does your work qualify for the credit?
Arrow black bottom

Yes, we work out of NJ for most of prep, all of production, and most of post, and encourage our partners to do this work in New Jersey wherever it makes sense for the project. We also have a production office in the center of Manhattan, which is available for early meetings, talent conversations, interviews with department heads and more.
Do you have existing vendor relationships?

We know the best rental houses in Jersey and the Tri-State area. We also know of the items that are hard or impossible to get in the region and need to be imported from Atlanta or Los Angeles (this might be surprising for LA producers but is just a fact).

We have accounts and established relationships with many of them so we can fully streamline the rental process - on time and on budget, with an optimized vendor selection to maximize the qualified spend in NJ.
How much is the New Jersey Tax Credit for Film & TV?
Arrow black bottom

New Jersey offers a Tax Credit that ranges from 30%-37%, depending on the location that it was filmed in, if a diversity bonus was approved by the NJEDA, and a few other factors. Keep in mind that not all expenses of a project will automatically qualify just because a large part of the film is shot in NJ, and every single one of thousands of transactions will need to be thoughtfully made and prepared to be scrutinized in an audit.
We help with all of this in the entire life cycle of a production - but for starters, use our NJ Tax Credit Zone Mapping Tool above to check if the filming location you're thinking of gives you a 30% or 35% base credit.

What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
