Kakaxi is AI powered platform enabling users to collect and analyze remote images and ambient data. We have partnered with the Kakaxi team in 2016 and collaborated again to communicate Kakaxi with wider demographic than that of the original launch. We made a live action video last time to visualize the concept of Kakaxi, but since the company grew internationally, we decided to employ animation to visualize ideas that is very difficult to do otherwise.
Kakaxi: AI Powered Analysis
Delivering the animation with a range of use cases
Kakaxi can offer solutions to a wide range of industry from agriculture to monitoring environment. To make the video accessible to wider audiences, we wanted to include a few use cases from their customers to give its prospective customers much better idea of what it could do. So the client and the creative team worked on selecting successful case studies and implement them as a part of our script.
Also since Kakaxi was a multi-faceted solution, we needed to make sure we could communicate that it is AI powered platform that is connected with a Kakaxi device installed in the remote field. The key to success here was a selection of words to give audiences the right context. The voice over script had a multiple round of revisions before finalized and we settled with the current version.
Kakaxi animation: Use of storyboard

When we work on animation project including Kakaxi animation, we create scene-by-scene storyboard to test ideas before fully illustrating each animation asset. This can eliminate chances of making large changes to the illustrations which would be much harder to do. When we did Kakaxi animation, it was absolutely necessary. When we do the storyboard, it is usually done all in black and white. And we did the storyboard for Kakaxi in black & white, and shared scene breakdowns with our our team of an illustrator and animator. While we could share the flow of the animation, the next step we had to do was to make sure our animation cast was diverse and inclusive to really represent the global customers.
